In this article, we discuss the stages of Samsung's interface with smart devices and touch screens since 2006.
1.-Samsung Ultra Smart F700
Samsung Ultra Smart F700 was launched in February 2007 and patented in Korea in 2006 It was running Croix Built on Linux .
The SGH-F700, marketed as the Ultra Smart F700, is a smartphone manufactured by Samsung. Using Vodafone as its network provider, the phone was first introduced at the 3GSM World Congress that was held in February 2007. Sales to the European market started November 2007.I mean before Apple stole it.
The seeds of the Samsung TouchWiz UI were sown in 2007 with launch of Samsung F700 Smartphone, launched with touch base UI named Croix.
2. The first Original version of "TouchWiz UI" shipped with F480 (Tocco) in 2008, its evolved from Croix UI.
3. The First ever "TouchWiz UI 1.0" shipped with Samsung Solstice A887. This phone was released on AT&T in US in 2009.

4. Second evolution of TouchWiz shipped with Samsung Solstice II in 2009, called TouchWiz 2.0.
5. TouchWiz UI 3 Launched with Android Éclair and Froyo based devices like Galaxy S in 2010.
6. There is also a lite version of TouchWiz UI 3, for some entry level smartphones.
7. TouchWiz UI 4 is based on Android Gingerbread 2.3, launched in 2011, on devices like Galaxy S2 & First ever Note.
8. TouchWiz later renamed to TouchWiz Nature UX, based on Android Ice cream & Sandwich (4.0.4) and Jellybean (4.1.1), launched with Galaxy S3 & Note2 in 2012.

9. TouchWiz Nature UX 2.0 & 2.5 based on Android Jellybean 4.2.2 and 4.3 launched with Galaxy S4 & Note3 and some other devices in 2013.

10. TouchWiz Nature UX 3.0 shipped with Galaxy S5 and S5 mini in 2014, brings new flat, colorful user interface.
11. Also in 2014, Samsung launched Galaxy Note4 and Note Edge with modified TouchWiz UX 3.5, based on Android KitKat.
12. For entry level smartphones, Samsung made lite version of TouchWiz UX 3, called TouchWiz Essence UX based on Android KitKat.
13. Samsung brings redesigned TouchWiz Nature UX 4.0 via Lolipop update on devices like Galaxy S5, Note4. Samsung started following Google's Material Desing language.
14. Samsung updated Galaxy S5, Note4 devices with Marshmallow (Android 6.0.1). It brings squircle icons from Galaxy Note5 with same old Nature UX 4 UI underneath. They didn’t go with TouchWiz 6 UI because of too much cluttered there like features.
15. Galaxy S6 & S6 Edge launched in 2015 and Samsung reverted its software naming scheme, now its called TouchWiz UI 5 based on Lolipop 5.0.2.
Samsung removed features, refined software, made it lite weight and easy to use with eye pleasing colors.
16. There is new version of TouchWiz UI 5 that launched with Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note5, based on Lolipop 5.1.1, brings updated squircle icons and slightly modified UI.
17. Also there is TouchWiz Essence 2.0 based on Lolipop but removed icons shadow effect, much liter UI for entry level smartphones.
18. In 2016, Samsung Introduced Galaxy S7 series with TouchWiz UI 6.0 based on Android 6.0.1.
Its more refined, smoother animations added some blur effects, and new White Quick Panel with blue accent, and New Lock Screen.
19. Samsung again renamed it user interface name with Note7 launch, now its called Grace UX, still based on Android 6.0.1, but updated icons, quick panel, redesgined settings items, added more blur effects.
20. Samsung started updating Galaxy S6, S7, Note5 to Android 7 Nougat in 2017. it brings Grace UX themed icons with Dream UX apps design and quick panel.
21. In 2017, Samsung launched Galaxy S8 & S8+ with Samsung Experience 8.1 based on Android 8.0 and Samsung Experience 8.5 based on Android 8.1. It brings new fresh icons with more refinement over Grace UX.
22. In 2018, Samsung launched Galaxy S9 & S9+ with Samsung Experience 9.0 and Galaxy Note9 with Samsung Experience 9.5, more refined over Android Nougat and some new features.
23. In last months of 2018, Samsung introduced completely overhaul to its software, and again renamed it to One UI.
