Filing a lawsuit against those who publish your photos or violate your sanctity through stopncii.org

StopNCII.org is a free tool designed to support victims of Non-Consensual Intimate Imagery (NCII), commonly known as revenge porn. The tool operates by creating a unique digital fingerprint, known as a hash, of your image or video. This hash can be used to detect and remove the content from the internet. The StopNCII.org website shares these hashes with participating companies to aid in the removal of such images from the online sphere.

Anyone whose images or videos have been published without their consent can utilize the StopNCII.org tool. There are no registration fees, and there is no limit to the number of images or videos you can upload.

StopNCII.org is powered by the Revenge Porn Helpline, a part of SWGfL (South West Grid for Learning), an internationally renowned charity that believes everyone should be able to use technology without harm. SWGfL, established in 2000, collaborates with partners and stakeholders worldwide to safeguard individuals online.

The Revenge Porn Helpline (RPH), established in 2015, has supported thousands of victims of non-consensual intimate imagery. RPH boasts a removal rate exceeding 90%, having successfully removed over 200,000 intimate images published online without consent.

How does StopNCII.org work?

  • Select the intimate photos or videos you want to fragment from your device. You can also upload AI-enhanced images alongside the original ones.

  • For each piece of content, StopNCII.org will create a digital fingerprint called a 'fragment' for every visual piece of content on your device. Only the fragment is sent to StopNCII.org, keeping the image or video on your device and not uploading it.
  • If your issue is successfully uploaded, you will receive a case number to check the status of your issue. Remember to note down your case number along with the PIN code to access your case after submission. This number is non-retrievable.
  • Participating companies will search for fragment matches and remove any matches within their systems if they violate their private intimate content abuse policy.
  • You can use your case number at any time to check the progress of your case or if you wish to withdraw your submission.

To use it, simply upload your photos or videos to the StopNCII.org website. The site will then create the fragments and share them with the participating companies. These companies will subsequently search for and remove your images or videos from the internet if they are found.

Do you fear that someone might share your intimate photos online? Has this already happened to you before?
