Infection, the startup company for artificial intelligence technologies founded by two well-known tech pioneers, has announced the launch of a chatbot that competes with the famous ChatGPT.
Pi Chat bot
Similar to ChatGPT from OpenAI, the new chatbot belonging to Invention, named Pi, uses generative artificial intelligence technology to interact with users through conversations.
Suleiman, CEO of Invention, said that the startup developed the technology internally, and that the chatbot Pi was built prioritizing natural language-like conversations with a high level of emotional intelligence, characterized by kindness and support.
According to Suleiman, Pi is highly balanced and impartial in political or sensitive issues, but sometimes can be "funny, silly and creative." He also said that the chatbot is suitable for personal daily tasks, but not for creating programming instructions or articles.
Suleiman said the company also spent time training the robot to adhere to its limits to make sure the AI doesn't violate its behavioral policies, including engaging in romantic conversations.
He also stated: "The goal is to ensure that artificial intelligence is always known as artificial intelligence and never attempts to mimic human beings. Therefore, it is frequently reminded to the human user that it is artificial intelligence."
How to use hey Pi Chat bot
Users can interact with Bay on major platforms such as the web (hey Pi), its own application in the iOS system, and social media platforms such as Instagram.
Suleiman confirmed that the service is free, and the startup may launch premium subscriptions in the future.
To train Bay's artificial intelligence, user data is utilized, including conversation content, noting that the chatbot is currently offline.
It should be noted that chatbots based on generative artificial intelligence have proliferated recently, especially after the emergence of GPT in November last year.
Using large language models, which scour massive amounts of text to summarize information and create content, chatbots such as Google's Bard enable people to have in-depth conversations for both professional and personal needs.
Infusion was founded in 2022 and was incubated by Greylock Ventures, which led a $225 million investment in the startup.
Co-founder Hoffman, a partner at Greylock and also a board member at Microsoft, resigned from OpenAI's board of directors in March to avoid conflicts between his work at two AI-focused startups.
